It runs slowly on an Athlon 900, but quite stable (the game itself is quite buggy and often crashes after a few hundred turns even on its intended platforms).

Runs slowly on my 1.7ghz CPU. In DOSBox slowdown starts at around 20 units. In win98 SE slowdown starts at around 600+ units.
